Our Engineer Alan Griffin undertook the engineering design at this Croudace Homes development in Amersham. The development consisted of 32no. plots. The site required an 8m deep sewer connection and had many trees including some under TPOs Tree. A Section 278 was required for a new bellmouth and a Section 104 and 106 required for the foul sewer connection. Alan provided a full civil and structural engineering design for the site, got NHBC approvals and secured approval of the statutory agreements.
Alan designed a solution that avoided excavations and pipe jacking for an 8m deep sewer connection and successfully negotiated the approval thereof with Thames Water saving £40,000. Alan designed a no-dig pavements where it was necessary for the access road to pass through root protection zones. Alan also designed a trench fill foundation solution for all plots apart from a single plot affected by extensive potential soil volume change where he designed a piled foundation solution.
The drafting work was undertaken in AutoCAD with modelling in PDS, MicroDrainage, Tekla TEDDS and AutoTrack as required.
